Rock Climbing
Viento
Yunquera provides an excellent base for climbers of all abilities with several of Spain’s  best climbing areas within a short drive.
El Chorro lies around an hour away and has a vast expanse of towering cliffs containing hundreds of routes. There is something to suit all tastes from gentle slabs to overhanging multi-pitch epics.
Puerto del Viento is one of our favourite places to climb and is situated 30 minutes away,  just off the main road from Yunquera to Ronda. It is one of the most tranquil settings you are likely to climb in, with spectacular views and an abundance of wildlife. There is a range of climbs across the grades from 3 to 8b, on sound limestone.
Turon is also around 30 minutes away beside the road between El Burgo and Ardales. The climbing is predominantly in the 6’s with smooth slabs and strenuous vertical walls.
The collection of crags around Valle de Abdalajis feature many climbs in the lower grades and are ideal as a venue for climbers looking for easier sport climbs. The routes are very well bolted with no long run outs.
